Staff professional development is one of the strategic areas of SE “USIE IZOTOP”

🤝 With the support of the U.S. Department of Energy, the company’s technical specialists successfully completed a specialized training course on the installation, adjustment and operation of auxiliary systems of a “hot cell”, which took place on 9-11 December 2025 at the production site of the Czech company VF a.s.

⚙️ During the theoretical and practical sessions, the participants worked on the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of radiation monitoring and video surveillance systems used in hot cells during the handling of radioactive materials.

🏭 In addition, specialists of SE “USIE IZOTOP” visited VF a.s. facilities, where they became familiar with the production processes and capabilities of specialized equipment manufactured at the VF a.s. plant.

🇨🇿🇺🇦 We sincerely thank our Czech partners for the high-quality training, the development of Ukrainian specialists’ capacity, and the continuation of productive cooperation.

Improving practices for managing IRS and RAW through expert dialogue.

On November 24–25, 2025, SE “USIE IZOTOP”, represented by Deputy Director Oksana Korol, participated in the international workshop “Bridging Regulation and Reality: Waste and DSRS Management in Conflict Conditions,” which took place in Prague under the Norwegian-Ukrainian Regulatory Cooperation Program.

🕵️‍♀️ On the Ukrainian side, the event was attended by experts from the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU), representatives of SSTC NRS, SE “USIE IZOTOPE”, SSE “CERWM”, SSE “Radon Association” and other operators of the national system for the management of radioactive waste and disused sealed sources of ionizing radiation.

🤝International partners were represented by specialists from regulatory authorities of Sweden (SSM), Finland (STUK), Norway (DSA), as well as experts from the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) and independent international consultants.

📌During the workshop, Ukrainian participants shared their practical experience in safely managing disused sealed sources in a condition of martial law, including:
🔸transportation and temporary storage,
🔸 arrangement of logistics,
🔸interaction with the regulator, local authorities, law enforcement agencies, and security forces.

❗️Based on results of the workshop, the parties noted:
🔹the importance of joint expert approaches to improving regulation in the field of RAW and IRS,
🔹the further development of the Ukrainian-Norwegian cooperation,
🔹effective regulation of radiation safety through the exchange of practical experience and support for Ukraine in improving nuclear safety, especially in the context of war and post-war recovery.

☝️Thus, the international workshop became a platform for strengthening cooperation and sharing experience in the field of safe management of radioactive materials, that is key to ensuring nuclear and radiation safety in Ukraine!
