🇦🇹 🇺🇦 Working meeting with IAEA in Vienna.

🤝 On 6 March 2026, at the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria, a working meeting was held between the Director of SE «USIE IZOTOP» Volodymyr Kalachyk and representatives of the Agency’s relevant departments and the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, headed by IAEA Deputy Director General -Karine Herviou.

🌍 During the constructive dialogue, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between SE “USIE IZOTOP” and IAEA, in particular within the international Response and Assistance Network (RANET). Attention was paid to strengthening the enterprise’s capabilities in the field of safe and secure management of radioactive materials and ionising radiation sources with the support of international partners through the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU).

📅 The parties also agreed on further steps to expand practical cooperation in 2026, including technical support, strengthening energy resilience, and participation of specialists from the State Enterprise “USIE IZOTOP” in international conferences, seminars, and training events under the auspices of the IAEA.

🙏 During the meeting, Volodymyr Kalachyk expressed his gratitude for the technical support and humanitarian aid already provided, and highlighted the importance of continuing work in this area to strengthen radiation safety and security in the management of radioactive materials at all stages of their life cycle. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for systematic improvement of the professional competence of personnel and the willingness of the company’s specialists to share their practical experience in working with ionising radiation sources in conditions of martial law. Consultations were also held and the initial steps were agreed upon regarding the possible launch of a national project and technical cooperation to establish a cyclotron centre in Ukraine at the SE “USIE IZOTOP”.

💼 SE “USIE IZOTOP” joined the seminar “Urgent legal assistance to business in wartime”

📍 On 4th March 2026, the Kyiv Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a workshop entitled “Urgent Legal Assistance to Businesses in Times of War” dedicated to practical tools for protecting entrepreneurship under the war economy conditions.

👩‍⚖️ The event was attended by Zoriana Savik, Head of Legal Department at SE “USIE IZOTOP”.

⚖️ During the workshop, key challenges for business were discussed, ranging from confirmation of force majeure circumstances and the application of the “hardship” mechanism to algorithms of actions in case of damage or loss of property as a result of military actions, as well as the possibility of insuring military risks.

📚 It is extremely important for us to keep abreast of current legal changes and use all available tools to protect the interests of the company and its partners.

🤝 We would like to thank the hosts and speakers for the professional dialogue and practical case studies that contribute to strengthening the resilience of Ukrainian business.

🇺🇦🇪🇸 New bridge between Ukraine and Spain: launch of the Business Council

🏛️ Director of SE “USIE IZOTOP” Volodymyr Kalachyk took part in the inaugural meeting of the Ukrainian Business Council “Ukraine-Spain” at the invitation of the President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gennady Chizhikov. At the meeting, reports and initiatives from representatives of business circles were heard and the composition of the Business Council was formed. We sincerely congratulate the newly elected Chairman of the Council, Bno-Ayriyan Mikhail Karenovich, and the members of the Council on the start of their important and responsible work.

🌐 The event was attended by Yulia Sokolovska, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Spain, and Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine, as well as more than 70 representatives of the Ukrainian business community who expressed interest in this initiative and confirmed their commitment to actively participate in further strengthening of cooperation.

💼 We are convinced that the activities of the Business Council opens up new opportunities for attracting Spanish investment to Ukraine, implementing joint investment projects, and bringing Ukrainian manufacturers to Spanish markets, as well as promoting Spanish companies in Ukraine. This is an important step towards developing a strategic partnership between our countries.

🏭 SE “USIE IZOTOP” officially handed-over a prototype of a certified packaging set for storing disused ionising radiation sources (DRS)

🏭 SE “USIE IZOTOP” officially handed-over a prototype of a certified packaging set for storing disused ionising radiation sources (DRS) at the Vector Centralised Storage Facility for DRS, which is operated by the State Specialized Enterprise “Central Enterprise for Radioactive Waste Management” (SSE “CERWM”) in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

🤝 The project to manufacture the packaging sets is implemented as part of international technical assistance with the support of the U.S. Department of Energy.

👥 The hand-over and acceptance procedure was attended by a representative of the ORS Programme in Ukraine, as well as the management of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management, SSE “CERWM” and SE “USIE IZOTOP”.

⚙️ The process of manufacturing the first batch of the packaging sets to be used in the technological processes of the Vector Centralised Storage Facility for DRS has commenced.

Staff professional development is one of the strategic areas of SE “USIE IZOTOP”

🤝 With the support of the U.S. Department of Energy, the company’s technical specialists successfully completed a specialized training course on the installation, adjustment and operation of auxiliary systems of a “hot cell”, which took place on 9-11 December 2025 at the production site of the Czech company VF a.s.

⚙️ During the theoretical and practical sessions, the participants worked on the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of radiation monitoring and video surveillance systems used in hot cells during the handling of radioactive materials.

🏭 In addition, specialists of SE “USIE IZOTOP” visited VF a.s. facilities, where they became familiar with the production processes and capabilities of specialized equipment manufactured at the VF a.s. plant.

🇨🇿🇺🇦 We sincerely thank our Czech partners for the high-quality training, the development of Ukrainian specialists’ capacity, and the continuation of productive cooperation.

Improving practices for managing IRS and RAW through expert dialogue.

On November 24–25, 2025, SE “USIE IZOTOP”, represented by Deputy Director Oksana Korol, participated in the international workshop “Bridging Regulation and Reality: Waste and DSRS Management in Conflict Conditions,” which took place in Prague under the Norwegian-Ukrainian Regulatory Cooperation Program.

🕵️‍♀️ On the Ukrainian side, the event was attended by experts from the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU), representatives of SSTC NRS, SE “USIE IZOTOPE”, SSE “CERWM”, SSE “Radon Association” and other operators of the national system for the management of radioactive waste and disused sealed sources of ionizing radiation.

🤝International partners were represented by specialists from regulatory authorities of Sweden (SSM), Finland (STUK), Norway (DSA), as well as experts from the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) and independent international consultants.

📌During the workshop, Ukrainian participants shared their practical experience in safely managing disused sealed sources in a condition of martial law, including:
🔸transportation and temporary storage,
🔸 arrangement of logistics,
🔸interaction with the regulator, local authorities, law enforcement agencies, and security forces.

❗️Based on results of the workshop, the parties noted:
🔹the importance of joint expert approaches to improving regulation in the field of RAW and IRS,
🔹the further development of the Ukrainian-Norwegian cooperation,
🔹effective regulation of radiation safety through the exchange of practical experience and support for Ukraine in improving nuclear safety, especially in the context of war and post-war recovery.

☝️Thus, the international workshop became a platform for strengthening cooperation and sharing experience in the field of safe management of radioactive materials, that is key to ensuring nuclear and radiation safety in Ukraine!
