🇦🇹 🇺🇦 Working meeting with IAEA in Vienna.

🤝 On 6 March 2026, at the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria, a working meeting was held between the Director of SE «USIE IZOTOP» Volodymyr Kalachyk and representatives of the Agency’s relevant departments and the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, headed by IAEA Deputy Director General -Karine Herviou.

🌍 During the constructive dialogue, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between SE “USIE IZOTOP” and IAEA, in particular within the international Response and Assistance Network (RANET). Attention was paid to strengthening the enterprise’s capabilities in the field of safe and secure management of radioactive materials and ionising radiation sources with the support of international partners through the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU).

📅 The parties also agreed on further steps to expand practical cooperation in 2026, including technical support, strengthening energy resilience, and participation of specialists from the State Enterprise “USIE IZOTOP” in international conferences, seminars, and training events under the auspices of the IAEA.

🙏 During the meeting, Volodymyr Kalachyk expressed his gratitude for the technical support and humanitarian aid already provided, and highlighted the importance of continuing work in this area to strengthen radiation safety and security in the management of radioactive materials at all stages of their life cycle. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for systematic improvement of the professional competence of personnel and the willingness of the company’s specialists to share their practical experience in working with ionising radiation sources in conditions of martial law. Consultations were also held and the initial steps were agreed upon regarding the possible launch of a national project and technical cooperation to establish a cyclotron centre in Ukraine at the SE “USIE IZOTOP”.
