IRS register

State register for radioactive and X-ray sources is established under the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved by the Decree No. 847 of CMU dd. 4.08.1997.

State register for radioactive and X-ray sources (hereinafter – the Register) – is a unified record and control system for radioactive and X-ray sources, work with which does not relieve from regulation control and which are produced in Ukraine, imported or exported over the state border, as well as holder of such sources, companies and natural persons whereto they are assigned in form of full operational control or are owned and used by them on other grounds.

The Register is established for the purpose of obligatory state sources registration, for sources record provision and for the purpose of control over its` location and movement, carrying out the analysis of their quantitative and qualitative composition (except for sources being possessed by Military Forces), forecasting of their accumulation, servicing scopes and specialized radioactive waste management enterprises.

The Register contains data on sources owners, as well as companies and natural persons whereto they are assigned in form of full operational control or are owned and used by them on other grounds, location, quantity, activity and types (except for radioactive waste).
