Radiopharmaceuticals and radionuclide generators

Radiopharmaceutical (RPh) – medicinal product approved for human administration for diagnostics or treatment purpose containing in its molecule specific radionuclide. RPhs are provided to the diagnostic and treatment institutions both in form of ready for use forms (for example, Sodium iodide (131I)), and in form of sets for its preparation. In the latter case PPh is prepared in the lab out of reagent set and radioactive label directly before use. In most cases a short-living radionuclide 99mТс extracted from isotope generator is used as a label.
